TEHRAN, Jul. 11 (MNA) – Indonesia has always supported Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and diplomacy as the main approach for solving international issues, said Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

She made the remarks in a Wednesday meeting with Iranian Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs Masumeh Ebtekar in Jakarta.

Indonesia urges all remaining signatories to adhere to the deal and help in establishing peace and stability in international environment, Marsudi added.

Expressing satisfaction with JCPOA Joint Commission meetings in Vienna, she said that Indonesia’s government looks for practical solutions for saving and implementing the pact and also guarding the interests of all parties.

“JCPOA is not merely a document of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and several Western countries, but an international deal to maintain peace and stability in today's world. It should not be jeopardized by unilateral actions of a state,” said Ebtekar, for his part.

“The cooperation of international community, including Indonesia as the most populated Islamic country and leader of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), has great importance for maintaining peace in the world,” she added.

The meeting was held with Iranian ambassador to Indonesia Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi in attendance. Officials of the two countries also discussed other issues such as economic ties, joint investments, banking relations and oil-related cooperation.

Iranian Vice-President is in Jakarta to deliver the letter of President Rouhani to his Indonesian counterpart.

Ebtekar arrived in Jakarta on Tuesday night and was welcomed by Indonesia's Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Yohana Susana Yembise.
